Brewery Mead now on tap!

We now have Plevna’s Brewery Mead 5,0% on tap!

A traditional fermented alcoholic beverage. This mead is made of honey, brown sugar and fructose, lemon, and hops, which impart a nice aftertaste.
Medium-dry, sugar content is 60 g /litre. A similar beverage used to be brewed by the Vikings.

Plevna was established in 1994, in the old Finlayson cotton mills, and it is the only genuine brewery pub in Tampere, producing a vast selection of beers made on the premises.

FC O'Connell's season starts in May

It’s time stop just watching football and get out there and play!

The Puistofutis football games are starting again in May and FC O’Connell’s is always looking for fresh blood to liven up the team. If you’d like to kick the ball around in this friendly series come and join our team!
Both men and women are welcome…and it really doesn’t matter in what shape you are, it’s just for fun in the end…Cheerleaders are also welcome :)
First game of the season is on Wednesday, May 3rd 17:50 at Kiovanpuisto pitch.

What's on the Hopinator?

Well, the Hopinator is proving to be quite a delight for both bartenders and customers of O’Connell’s alike and this week we have a new batch where we’ve combined the refreshing flavours of Kingpin lager from Brewdog with some zingy asian flavours, namely lime, ginger & coriander

The resulting beverage is wonderfully complex… ‘Nuff said!

Now on tap: Cuvée de Jacobins Rouge

We now have this lovely Sour Ale on tap from Brouwerij Omer Vander Ghinste (Bockor), Belgium.

Cuvée des Jacobins Rouge 5,5%
Cuvée des Jacobins Rouge is a Flemish Sour Ale, red in color with a beguiling balance of malty sweetness and acidic sharpness. It is made from spontaneously fermented and barrel-aged beer of at least 18 months in age. The beer is cooled overnight in a large, shallow metal vessel called a coolship and then fermented and aged in large oak foudres which are made in France and assembled on-site at Bockor. It has a robust character but is beautiful and sophisticated with a full body and overtones of vanilla, dried cherry, stone fruit and cocoa. It is a complex, beautiful sour beer.

Mallaskosken Black Imperial Rye 11,4%

This beer is a tribute to rye, which has fed the Finnish people for centuries. A dark top fermented beer with amble hops from Mallaskoski Brewery. From the northern rye fields of Pohjanmaa, with a touch of darkness. Coffee-brown, very full-bodied, strongly hopped, rich rye notes, toasted malt notes, syrupy, hint of coffee, spicy, rich, full-bodied.

Westons Medium Sweet Vintage Apple Cider 4,5%

Oak aged cider with Herefordshire grown apples. Medium-sweet and light-bodied with characteristic fruity sweetness, which makes this sparkling cider easy to drink on its own or enjoyed with creamy food dishes such as a hearty chicken pie.
